Description
Chief Sitting Bull was a Native American, Sioux Chief who lived on the plains of North America in the 19th Century. Chief Sitting Bull was a great Sioux leader who lead his people during the resistance against the United States government policies. He performed with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show throughout the United States and Europe. He was killed by Indian agency police while trying to arrest him because the Federal Government feared he was joining the Ghost Dance movement. This painting came about because I dreamed I was called to a Council of Chiefs who asked me to paint 12 Chiefs in full regalia and paint barren landscapes to hang along with the Chiefs to represent the plight of the Native Americans in the last 300 years,
