I have been creating artwork since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I paint the places where I would like to be, especially the natural wild places where there is little evidence of civilization. I also like to express my admiration and appreciation for the creatures that live there by painting them. Each one is beautiful and uniquely designed to survive and thrive in it’s environment.Until recently my nearsightedness affected my work by causing me to take off my glasses and work in great detail very close to my painting. However now I am slowly moving away from that approach and trying to embrace a looser, freer style. I try to inspire a sense of calm and serenity through my work.I work mainly in oils on canvas or watercolor on watercolor paper. Before turning to fine art painting, I worked for many years as a free-lance graphic designer and illustrator. I live in Point Richmond California across the bay from San Francisco with my husband, one dog and one cat.
