LUNAPARK ANNI ’70

Description

Luna park 70s is a painting made with oil on canvas, applied with a palette knife and composed of various shades of white, grey and black that give a sense of melancholy but at the same time excitement and liveliness. The colouring gives the work its title as TV in the 1970s was broadcast exclusively in black and white. There are numerous references to the merry-go-rounds and attractions of the time such as the carousel or the Ferris wheel, which with its lights, together with the other elements, helps to represent a typical 1970s fun fair.

The particularity of the use of textured paint stands out, giving the work a three-dimensional aspect by enhancing the main elements of the painting as well as the people represented who, seeing and not seeing each other, are as if they were moving within the canvas with the aim of giving the visitor the sensation of immersing themselves within the impressionist landscape.
