PALAZZINA B

Description

The work depicts a building in the foreground, consisting of four floors and eight separate flats, with side entrances and a garage access located on the ground floor. This building, called Palazzina B, bears the name given to it as part of the apartment complex where I grew up. It is the building that I look at every day from my bedroom window, located in Palazzina E, where I have lived since birth.

This view represents a central element of my life. It is the scene I contemplated many times, not only with the window open, but also when I looked out to reflect, smoke and let my thoughts wander through the problems and joys of my existence. For this reason, the vision of Palazzina B is imbued with a deep emotional value, intertwined with memories and moments that have accompanied me over time.

There is a further personal connection to this structure: the condominium complex, including Palazzina B, was designed by my grandfather Paolo, the architect who designed this place that is so familiar and meaningful to me.

From an artistic point of view, the work stands out for its strong materiality and almost three-dimensional effect. The representation is constructed through the use of four main colours – white, black, light green and dark green – which are mixed in delicate nuances to give depth and character to the image.
