DOLOMITI SUPERSKY

Dolomiti Super Ski is a painting inspired by a photograph taken during my last experience on the slopes of the Dolomites. The name of the work pays tribute to the Dolomiti Superski consortium, which includes Cortina d’Ampezzo, the town where I was staying.

The scene captured and subsequently transposed on the canvas represents a moment of great suggestion: the sunset cloaked the mountain of a warm orange light, enhancing the typical color of the dolomite, the rock that characterizes these unique peaks. The image was taken from the chairlift of one of the ski resorts, while the landscape below was revealed in all its beauty. That winter was particularly mild, with little snow, which allowed you to see small wooden houses here and there, used during the summer for the pasture of the flocks.

The painting is distinguished by a palette of soft and sweet colors, which evoke the serenity and pleasure of the days spent skiing in those enchanted places. The soft light and delicate tones give the work an intimate and nostalgic atmosphere, paying tribute to the magic of the Dolomites and the memories they preserve.
