Short workshops
Plein-air painting workshop for Adults

Join us for an immersive plein air workshop with renowned artist Serguei Zlenko in Västerås, Sweden. This unique 3-5 day experience offers artists of all levels the opportunity to learn from a master painter who has honed his craft across Europe and the United States. participants will receive personalized instruction and guidance from Serguei Zlenko, a classically trained artist known for his versatile use of oils, watercolors, pastels, and clay.
About the teacher
Born in the Republic of Georgia, Serguei Zlenko graduated from the Russian Art Academy’s Art School and later earned a Bachelor and Masters of Fine Art from the Moscow Surikov Art Academy. He is a member of the Russian, Finnish, and French Artists’ Associations, and his work is featured in galleries and collections throughout Europe and the United States.
Serguei’s artistic range spans detailed topographical studies, ballet rehearsals, metaphorical figurative works, and spontaneous character sketches. His mastery of various techniques allows him to bring creativity and depth to each genre, particularly in his figurative paintings. His portraits and studies of dancers capture natural, spontaneous moments, showcasing the elegance and intensity of their performances.

About the teacher
Stefan Edqvist is a professional artist specializing in the ancient fresco painting techniques originating from Italy. He studied at Västerås Konstskola (1990-1992), Birkagårdens Konstskola in Stockholm (1992-1994), and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (1994-1999).
As an accomplished artist, Stefan is a member of several prestigious organizations including the National Organization for Swedish Artists (KRO), the Artists' Center of Central Sweden (KC-Mitt), and the Artists' Collective Workshop in Västerås (KKV). His expertise encompasses the three main fresco techniques: al fresco, al secco, and stucco lustro. Stefan's dedication to these historical methods enables him to create vibrant and enduring works of art, sharing his knowledge through specialized workshops and classes.

About the teacher
Sandra Gustavsson’s artistic self-discovery is about exploring emotions, space, and environments through color and form. Over the years, her focus has changed between drawing, watercolors, oil, clay, acrylics, wood, and photography. Inspiration is usually drawn from nature or her own emotional state, but she has also been inspired by music and other artists. Sandra wishes to convey a feeling of calm and stillness.
Her interest in the combination of mindfulness, art therapy, and our senses suggests a desire to challenge the viewer about the conscious artistic expression and its influence on our mood. Today, Sandra mainly works with oil or acrylic on canvas or with watercolors. She often works in layers of color to capture light and depth and to create life and movement. Additionally, she explores 2D representation through abstract and 3D representation in various organic materials.

This workshop could cover the basics of fashion design, including sketching, fabric selection, and garment construction techniques. Participants could create their own fashion sketches and simple garments.
