Mayella Geskus is a versatile artist whose work is deeply inspired by nature and her travels. She studied at the Academy of Arts in Utrecht (ABKU) from 1984 to 1990, specializing in Monumental Textiles and Sculptures. Her artistic education was further enriched with an additional year of studying Painting at the Academy of Nunspeet.

Over the years, Mayella has actively participated in exhibitions across the country, showcasing her evolving artistic vision. Beyond her personal practice, she has significantly contributed to her local art community. She founded the Atelierroute, a celebrated annual event that has thrived for over 26 years, and has organized innovative projects, including a Land Art initiative and exhibitions in parks and museums.

Mayella’s work reflects a dynamic artistic journey. Initially rooted in abstraction, her style has transitioned toward a more figurative approach, emphasizing her connection to the natural world and her passion for exploring the unfamiliar.
