Artist- Germany
Born in August 1953, Alexandra Oehlert belongs to the generation of protest and "love and peace," movements that defined much of the 1960s and 1970s. Her early life was shaped by a challenging home environment, leading her to seek out alternative communities and new ways of thinking. During her years of involvement with organic and biological farming, alongside studying psychology and working with handicapped individuals, Oehlert found solace and inspiration in painting. In 1988, as a single mother of three children, Oehlert decided to fully dedicate herself to her artistic career. That year, she was accepted into the BBK (Federal Association of Visual Artists) and started exhibiting her work. Oehlert’s paintings reflect her deep connection with the world around her, drawing from the colors and experiences she has encountered throughout her life. Her work often incorporates vibrant, organic elements, capturing the essence of both human emotion and the natural world. Oehlert’s art has been displayed in various exhibitions across Germany, including notable locations such as Villa Böhm in Neustadt, Villa Michels in Andernach, and Hambacher Schloss. Her studio is located in the picturesque village of Maikammer, nestled within Germany’s famous Wine Route, where she continues to create and share her unique artistic vision with the world. Through her paintings, Oehlert invites viewers to experience her rich life journey, her connection to nature, and her passion for the human condition, creating a lasting impression on those who encounter her work.
