BEN HELMINK

Born in the Netherlands Studied Art and Art History on the Academy Gerrit Rietveld in Amsterdam Always within the Art study, Ben travelled a lot in Italy , with a special interest for the period of the Renaissance and specialized himself in that period of Art History in all his aspects. Since 2006 he lives in the Portuguese Alentejo near the Lake of Santa Clara a Velha. In his studio called Monte das Moradias he developed his Artistic activities with painting and drawing … realized several exhibitions in the Algarve, the Alentejo and Lisbon even as in Spain, solo and with Art Groups as the Dutch and Belgian ArtwaysArt and de Portuguese group of artists called Peace and Art Society ( PAS ) in Faro. The themes in his work are Mundos Antigos; the Ancient world of Architecture and Cultures, the Culture of the Alentejo, Landscapes, even as Dance and Music. Most of the materials on canvas are oil paint and acrylic mixed with sand and fixed with slices
