Artist, Harlem , Netherlands
Bram Mous was born in Breda (1979) and finished a study editorial design at the Hogeschool van Utrecht. He also completed a law degree at university. His working method varies from painting to visual art. With a wide range of techniques and knowledge of different materials, he sets a refreshing direction on the current art map. The recurring theme in his work is the consumer society, which has fascinated him since his childhood. He calls himself a first child of Nintendo prosperity. The art of combining natural materials and consumer goods takes the viewer along in his imaginative search for the last level of prosperity.Popular works of art by Bram Mous are the art objects from the Anachronism series. These works are part of a series of different works based on items from the 1980s – 1990s. At the same time, the work expresses the illusion as if the objects have been excavated and arranged as archaeologists do. With detailed skill, the work radiates beautiful memories on the one hand, and a fixed image of transience on the other. The works cannot be classified as a series or edition. The fractures and shards occur in a different place every time. This makes each work of art unique and a composition is created from the creative shards. In addition to these popular works, Bram also produces paintings, where he is always looking for new development and technical challenges in his art.Bram Mous, 2024 ©
