Rait Rosin holds a BA (2005) and an MA (2007) in painting from the Estonian Academy of Arts, as well as an additional MA (2013) in philosophy from Tallinn University. In 2021, he defended his dissertation on the Art and Design study program at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
His research focuses on issues related to social norms and examines how artists, as a collective within society, can engage with shared yet distant collective norms. He examines how these norms influence individual artists and their subjectivity in the contemporary art scene. Rait Rosin interprets the artistic expressions of participants as acts of cultural communication between the central and peripheral polarities. However, due to the expectations small towns have for organised events, the impact of artists is often assessed based on their influence on the surrounding areas. Rait Rosin works mostly on larger canvases, where he prefers to use painting textures and brush strokes to cope with the emotional experience and expressions.
