Selim Dion
I am Selim an artist from Brussels with roots in Turkey.
I am disabled and spiritual, that influences a lot of my work. For my young age I have 20 lives behind me, and thus have a wide array of techniques and inspirations.
I mostly work with different themes like life and death but also a recarnation.
Bost of the subjectes are about human, godliness and jewelry.
My work is devotional. Just like my music.
My work is also translated in many forms.
I have a lot of different media with which I work, for me the result is more important.
My work emphasizes detailed, intricate artwork with a focus
on surreal, biomechanical, and oriental themes. This
distinct aesthetic appeals to an audience drawn to complex,
almost otherworldly designs. I’m captivated by tarnished
and withered oddities, and my recurring themes include
death, rejuvenation, and spirituality in general. I favor
darker tones, detailed line work, and gritty, eerie textures.
Growing up in Brussels , I was always drawn to the style
and finesse of furniture from; fantasy films, uncanny comics
and the Art Nouveau & Deco movements.
At that time of my life , these influences felt distant and out
of reach, challenging to acquire or study closely.
