Vendor Biography
Since childhood, art has been my passion and my refuge, a space where emotions take shape and color. Throughout my journey, I have explored various techniques, with a special dedication to watercolor and oil painting, two mediums that have defined my artistic language. In my practice, dripping and staining are not just technical tools but essential elements that bring life and spontaneity to my works.
My work is characterized by a constant search for abstraction within the figurative, where the natural essence of the characters takes center stage. I am drawn to simplicity, but also to the challenge of capturing the unique essence that surrounds each individual. Since the beginning, I have felt a deep fascination with elderly people, the richness of their expressions, and the stories their faces tell, making them a central theme in my early works.
In 1994, while studying Graphic Design in Montevideo, I decided to take a transformative step in my artistic life by joining the workshop of renowned visual artist Sisto Pascale. For four years, this space allowed me to refine my technique in watercolor and later in oil painting, always focusing on the human figure and everyday moments.
Life, with its cycles and responsibilities, led me to alternate between painting and other commitments, but in 2004, I resumed my artistic training in Colonia under the guidance of master Fernando Fraga. This stage further strengthened my connection with the human figure and reaffirmed my commitment to art.
Today, my work finds inspiration in the interaction of light with its surroundings, a phenomenon I seek to translate into compositions that capture both the physical energy of the characters and the fleeting moments where life intertwines with art. I invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and discover the hidden beauty in everyday life, the kind that often goes unnoticed in the fast pace of life.
